Hey friend, I’m Gracie!
documentary photographer, wife, mama
Lover of iced coffee (with extra caramel, obviously), interior design, good music and cheesy romance movies. I love a slow and intentional morning spent with my family. I could eat French Toast for breakfast every morning. 100% convinced that a well written love note, a long hug and a trip to Krispy Kreme can fix virtually every problem.
My backstory:
As a child, I found a black and white photograph of my grandmother from her 20s. She was wearing a bathing suite on the beach- not posed, just enjoying the moment. I remember being in awe because my tiny brain couldn’t believe that my grandma ever looked so young!
My parents were the best at taking photos during our childhood, not the posed kind, just photos of us doing life. My brother and I loved pulling down the albums and looking back at the memories from previous years.
Fast forward to 2022, my grandpa passed unexpectedly. Our family gathered together going through photos from his entire life. Although he was no longer with us, we had this window into his time on Earth.
Why it matters:
One day your grandkids will ask to see photos of your life. Give them a real look into your life, beyond the perfectly posed smiling images. Show them the giggly kisses with your spouse, holding tiny holds of your toddlers- laughing and running through open fields. Your 85 year old self will never regret investing in documenting your memories!
